A limited program · Two businesses at a time

Let’s find one real thing worth fixing — and prove whether it matters.

I’m Michael Robinson. I’ve spent thirty years untangling messy operations inside big companies, and I’m bringing that to a small number of local, owner-run businesses. I’ll help you find what’s quietly costing you time or money, tell you honestly whether it’s worth fixing, and — if it is — help you prove it. No charge for the diagnosis. Whether you run the business alone, with family, or with a small crew.

Applications go straight to Michael, who reviews every one personally.

Here’s the straight version

I’m early in building MRTek for small businesses, and I learn fastest by working with real owners on real problems. So the first few businesses get an unusually generous deal, and in return they help me sharpen how MRTek works.

What’s included — free

  • A ~20-minute review with Michael to see whether it’s a fit and where to focus.
  • If you’re accepted: a 45–60 minute discovery session to understand how the work really flows.
  • A written Business Friction & Opportunity Review — what’s worth fixing, what’s fine to leave alone, and the one thing we’d start with.
  • A clear recommendation — even if it’s “don’t spend money on this yet.”
  • When useful, one small, tightly capped experiment (no more than two hours of hands-on work) to show a fix is real.

Where free ends

The diagnosis, direction, and the one capped experiment are free. Building or running the fix — production setup, ongoing operation, support — is paid, and we’ll quote it plainly before any of it starts. Front Desk, if that’s the fix, is a 30-day free trial, then $499/month.

The boundaries: one project, about 4–6 weeks, with a start and end we set on day one. Two businesses at a time. You own your business data and stay in control — we’ll always be clear about which parts are reusable MRTek methods and which run on licensed third-party platforms.

This is a good fit if…
  • You’re an owner-operator, a family business, or a small team — roughly one to fifteen people.
  • Your time keeps getting pulled toward routine work instead of the work you’re best at.
  • Something specific keeps slipping: missed calls, quotes that pile up, follow-up that falls through, paperwork after hours, scheduling chaos.
  • You’d rather have someone tell you the truth than sell you software.
It’s probably not a fit if…
  • You’re looking for free, unlimited, ongoing support — this is one bounded project, not a standing help desk.
  • Nothing specific is bothering you — take the self-assessment instead.
  • What you actually need is a full business rebuild — that’s a bigger, paid engagement, and we’ll tell you so.
How it works — about 4–6 weeks
  1. 1

You apply (5 minutes). Tell me what you do and what’s bugging you. If it’s a fit, we book the conversation.

  2. 2

We talk (20 minutes). No pitch. I ask how the work reaches you and what happens after, and we figure out whether it’s worth going deeper.

  3. 3

Discovery + review. I look at how the work really flows and write up your Business Friction & Opportunity Review — where your time and money are leaking, and what’s worth doing.

  4. 4

I hand it to you. You get the review, the one thing I’d fix first, an honest read on whether it’s worth doing, and — where useful — a small proof it works. Yours to keep.

  5. 5

You decide. Fix it yourself with the plan, have me build it (paid), start a Front Desk free trial if missed calls are the leak, or do nothing. Your call, no pressure.

Questions

Is this a disguised sales call?

No. You get a real, useful review and a plan you keep even if we never work together. If a fix isn’t worth the money, we’ll tell you.

Do I have to buy Front Desk or anything else?

No. Some businesses’ biggest problem isn’t the phone at all — it might be quoting, follow-up, or scheduling. We recommend what actually helps you, which is sometimes nothing.

Will this take me out of my own business?

The opposite. We protect the work customers call you for, and take the routine off your plate so you have more of yourself left for the work only you can do.

Do I have to give a testimonial or referral?

Never required. If we genuinely help you and you’re happy, we may ask — and you’re free to say no.

Why is it free?

Because we’re building MRTek for small businesses and we learn fastest from real ones. You get help; we get sharper. Fair trade.

What does it cost me in time?

A 20-minute conversation, a longer discovery session, and a couple of short check-ins. That’s it.

Two spots at a time. Want one?

Tell me a bit about your business and what keeps pulling your attention away from the work you’re best at. If it’s a fit, we’ll talk. Applications aren’t guaranteed a spot — priority goes to referred, warm-network, and local businesses.
